Host high schools are provided with those guidelines on the High School Enrollment Form. Students and host families review the rules and guidelines at a formal orientation at the beginning of their program year.

What's a Community Coordinator? Become a Community Coordinator. You've Got Questions Naturally, your high school has many questions.
Is PAX an accredited program? What kind of high schools do PAX exchange students attend? Do host families need to have a child that attends our school? Can my high school ask to have a PAX exchange student? How many PAX students can attend a single high school? Who will be the main support person for PAX students at our high school? At what grade level are PAX students enrolled at their host high schools? What classes do PAX students have to take? Does PAX have academic standards for their students?
Do exchange students graduate? Do exchange students participate in sports or clubs? To ensure their town shows its best side, Community Coordinators get the word out to find and match students with great host families. Based on families' interests, Coordinators are able to suggest students who would be a good fit.
They also work to vet host families according to U. Department of State regulations. Finally, with the help of PAX staff, Coordinators help everyone get their bearings, holding orientations for students and host families alike.
Throughout the year, PAX students will naturally have many questions. The Community Coordinator is someone they can always turn to—particularly with cultural questions. Themes include: diversity, entrepreneurship, free market economy, democracy, U.
Government, and leadership. School officials see that PAX students provide learning opportunities for the entire community—and that they can count on their PAX Community Coordinator to ensure students are enrolled according to school policy. Coordinators make an impact elsewhere in the community as well. After all, PAX students volunteer and get involved in all sorts of extracurriculars. This gives PAX Coordinators the opportunity to get involved with local non-profits, cheer on the team, and much more!
More Than Just Commission Learn about other cultures while making a difference for young people. Flexible Hours Many of those who serve as Community Coordinators also work full time.
